Honda CB550 Four vs Kawasaki Z650
Two middleweight Japanese motorcycles that earned legendary reputations for very different reasons.
The Honda CB550 Four built on the success of the famous CB750 and offered riders a smooth, reliable and easy-to-own four-cylinder motorcycle. It quickly became a favourite for commuting, touring and weekend rides alike.
The Kawasaki Z650 arrived with a sportier edge. Lighter, sharper and packed with performance, many riders saw it as a scaled-down version of the mighty Z1. It delivered exciting handling and plenty of power while remaining practical enough for everyday use.
Both motorcycles helped define the Japanese motorcycle boom of the 1970s and remain highly respected classics today.
The Honda is often praised for its refinement and durability. The Kawasaki is remembered for its performance and lively character.
If you could only keep one in your garage, would it be the Honda CB550 Four or the Kawasaki Z650?
