Suzuki GT250 vs Yamaha RD250 – Which Would You Choose?

The Suzuki GT250 and Yamaha RD250 were two of the most popular Japanese two-strokes of the 1970s, but they offered very different riding experiences.

The GT250 earned a reputation for reliability, comfort and everyday usability. With Suzuki's oil injection system and smooth power delivery, it was a practical and enjoyable machine that many riders used daily.

The RD250 took a more performance-focused approach. Lighter, sharper and more aggressive, the RD quickly became known as one of the most exciting quarter-litre motorcycles of its era.

Today both models are highly sought after by collectors and riders alike. Some prefer the dependable character of the Suzuki, while others love the lively performance of the Yamaha.

If you could only have one in your garage, which would you choose?
