What happens when old fuel is left in a motorcycle

What happens when old fuel is left in a motorcycle?

Many motorcycles spend years sitting in garages, sheds and barns without being started.

Unfortunately, petrol does not last forever.

Over time, old fuel can deteriorate and leave deposits inside the fuel system.

Common problems can include blocked carburettors, stuck floats, blocked fuel taps and poor running.

This is one of the most common issues found on long-stored motorcycles and often explains why an otherwise complete motorcycle will not start.

The good news is that many fuel-related problems can be repaired with careful cleaning and recommissioning.
