Yamaha RD350 vs Suzuki GT380 – Two Different Two-Stroke Philosophies

The Yamaha RD350 and Suzuki GT380 were both stars of the 1970s, but they appealed to very different riders.

The RD350 became famous for its lively performance, lightweight handling and reputation as one of the most exciting road bikes of its generation. It was a machine that rewarded enthusiastic riding and quickly earned a loyal following.

The Suzuki GT380 took a more balanced approach. Its three-cylinder engine delivered smooth power, excellent touring ability and a level of comfort that made it a practical choice for longer journeys.

Many riders viewed the RD350 as the sports bike and the GT380 as the all-rounder.

Today both are highly collectable classics and remain popular among enthusiasts looking to relive the golden age of Japanese two-strokes.

So which would you choose?

The sharp and lively Yamaha RD350 or the smooth and distinctive Suzuki GT380?
