1960s Honda CB77 Super Hawk 305 Valuation Report

Date: August 2025

Historical Overview

The Honda CB77 “Super Hawk” (305 cc parallel-twin) helped establish Honda’s reputation in the UK during the early–mid 1960s. Alloy cylinder barrels, electric start, a lively overhead-cam engine and quality electrics set it apart from many contemporary British lightweights. Early bikes with period details and correct tank/badge styles are the most collectible, while later machines remain popular for their usability and parts support. Many UK examples are re-imports from North America; completeness, originality and paperwork now drive the biggest price gaps.

UK Valuation Summary (by condition and year range)

Notes: UK-registered, matching-numbers early CB77s with correct tank badges and original paint sit at the top of the ranges. Later machines can match early prices when exceptionally original with full documentation. US re-imports lacking key tinware or with non-stock silencers often trade 10–20% below midpoints.

Value Influencing Factors

Conclusion

The UK market recognises a modest early/late split for the CB77. Projects typically change hands around £1.9–3k (early) or £1.7–2.7k (late). Usable roadworthy riders achieve £3.8–5.5k (early) and £3.3–5k (late). Collector-grade originals or high-quality restorations sit in the £6–8.5k (early) and £5.5–7.5k (late) brackets, with the very best, highly original UK-registered examples achieving the top of these ranges. Buyers consistently pay for correctness, provenance and an unmolested spec over cosmetic shine alone.
