Do imported motorcycles qualify for Historic Vehicle tax exemption

Do imported motorcycles qualify for Historic Vehicle tax exemption?

This is a question we are asked regularly.

Many motorcycles over 40 years old may qualify for Historic Vehicle tax exemption.

However, the motorcycle must meet the DVLA requirements and the correct taxation class must be applied.

Historic Vehicle tax exemption is separate from MOT exemption, although many motorcycles may qualify for both.

If you're importing or registering an older motorcycle and are unsure whether it qualifies, it's worth checking before submitting your application.
