What If My Imported Motorcycle Has No Title?
One of the biggest concerns for people importing classic motorcycles from the USA is discovering that the bike does not come with a Title document.
While a Title can be helpful, the absence of one does not automatically prevent a motorcycle from being registered in the UK.
Many older motorcycles were sold in states where titles were not always issued for historic vehicles, and some documents have simply been lost over the decades.
In these situations, DVLA may accept alternative evidence to establish the motorcycle's identity and age. This can include import paperwork, bills of sale, dating evidence, NOVA confirmation and supporting documentation relating to the motorcycle's history.
Every application is assessed on its own merits, so providing clear, organised paperwork gives you the best chance of a smooth registration process.
