The Suzuki GSX-R1100, launched in 1986, was the big brother to the GSX-R750. With its 1052 cc oil-cooled inline-four, alloy frame, and aggressive superbike styling, it quickly earned a reputation as the ultimate musclebike of the 1980s. Early “Slabside” and later “Slingshot” models are now highly collectable in the UK.
Condition | Estimated Value (GBP) | Example External Source (plain text) |

Roadworthy / Presentable Running, tidy bikes; some age-related wear or light mods. |
£6,500 – £9,000 | Iconic Auctioneers – 1989 GSX-R1100 Slingshot sold £8,280 (Jul 2023). Car & Classic dealer listings £7–9k. |
Restored / Excellent High-quality restoration or very original low-mile example. |
£10,000 – £14,000 | Bonhams Stafford – GSX-R1100 Slabside sold £11,212 (Apr 2024). Dealer asks up to £13–14k for original/restored Slabsides. |
Notes: Early “Slabside” GSX-R1100s command a premium over later 1980s/early-1990s “Slingshot” versions. Matching numbers, uncut frames, original fairings and exhausts are critical to value. Modified streetfighters generally sit below these ranges.
As of September 2025, Suzuki GSX-R1100 values in the UK typically fall around £3.5–5k for projects, £6.5–9k for roadworthy riders, and £10–14k for restored or excellent examples. Early Slabsides in original trim with provenance are pushing the upper end of this range and beyond.
