The BMW R90S, released in 1973, was BMW Motorrad’s first true high-performance production bike. With a 898cc air-cooled boxer twin producing around 67 hp, it introduced a sportier riding experience while retaining the marque’s touring comfort. The distinctive nose fairing and mint-green tank panel became design hallmarks of the model.
Based on UK auction sales and private listings:
The 1975 BMW R90S remains a benchmark British/European sport-touring classic. Its market holds firm, with solid values even for project machines. Clean, running examples in the £6k–£8k bracket are typical; top-tier restorations and rare colour variants can reach five figures.
